Original Site of Harrison Radiator Plaque Dedication
Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 10:00am to 11:00am
Former Harrison Radiator Building: 57 Canal St., Lockport, NY 14094
A plaque commemorating the original site of Harrison Radiator will be dedicated in Lockport, New York. The event will take place beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2. The William G. Pomeroy Foundation is among the funders of this plaque.
During the early 1900s, Herbert C. Harrison established a radiator company that offered a product with a unique design. His business, Harrison Radiator, quickly outgrew the original site in Lockport. The company became part of General Motors, a world leader in radiator production that still conducts business in Lockport today. The former Harrison Radiator building is in a historic district and is located adjacent to the famous “Flight of Five” locks on the Erie Canal.
