Caleb Briggs was born in Rhode Island in 1749. During the American Revolution he served in Abraham Brinckerhoff’s Company, part of the Second Ulster County Regiment. Upon his death in 1828, his will left this burying ground for the use of himself and his family, many of whom are also buried here.
