In 1858, a Methodist Episcopal church was built in the town of Conesville in Schoharie County, New York under Reverend John Davy. Land for the church building was given by the Mattice family, a local family of farmers. The church was dedicated in March 1859. In 1965, the community completed an addition to the church to provide a dedicated space for their Sunday School program.

As of 2024, the Conesville United Methodist Church continues to serve its community as a house of worship.
