WILLIAM G. POMEROY FOUNDATION 2020

The Jewish Agricultural and Industrial Aid Society was organized in 1900 by Baron M. De Hirsh to train the immigrant Jewish community (mostly from Eastern Europe) in agricultural pursuits. In 1904 the Society purchased Indian Head Farm as a training facility. After failing to meet the mortgage, the property was lost to foreclosure in 1929.
