In 1900, School District No. Three of the Town of Java in Wyoming County, NY purchased property from Calvin and Clarinda Rogers to build a schoolhouse. The resulting two-story structure included a second floor hall, with classes held in the ground-floor room. Curriers Grange No. 1273, Patrons of Husbandry, organized on July 10, 1912, used the second floor hall for meetings and events. The building served as a school until 1969, and in 1970 area residents voted to close the school and dispose of the property. In August 1970, Curriers Grange No. 1273 acquired the building from the school district for one dollar.
