Born in 1757 in Canaan, C.T., Sunderland Pattison enlisted as a private in Captain Samuel Sloan’s “C” Company – Colonel John Patterson’s regiment of Massachusetts troops. His record shows that he was a member of the expeditionary forces in General George Washington’s army at Trenton, New Jersey on Christmas Eve, 1776. Pattison died in 1843 and was originally buried on the family farm in Quaker Hill before his remains were transferred to Pine Hill Cemetery.
