Robert and Florence Whitehouse were active reformers and supporters of woman’s suffrage. They were involved in the founding of the Maine branches of the National Woman’s Party and the Men’s Equal Suffrage League in 1914. Florence served as the chairman for National Woman’s Party for a number of years, while her husband served as president of the Men’s Equal Suffrage League.
