Regional Grant Schedule

The historic marker program in New York State follows a grant schedule organized by region. Each region encompasses several counties. Below is an overview of the grant schedule by region, including important dates for submitting application materials.

Regions 1 through 3 of New York State

Regions 1-3

  • 4/14/2025 – Application becomes available online
  • 5/19/2025 – Deadline to submit Letter of Intent (LOI) to verify primary sources. Submit your proposed marker inscription and list the primary source documentation you have assembled to verify the historic accuracy of your text.
  • 6/16/2025 – Application deadline
  • 9/29/2025 – Applicant receives email notification of decision
